Taxing Remote Sales in the Digital Age

The American University Law Review is proud to announce its upcoming Annual Symposium, titled “Taxing Remote Sales in the Digital Age,” generously hosted at Jones Day’s office at 300 New Jersey Ave., NW, Washington, DC 20001.  We are looking forward to thoughtful discussions about whether internet sales are subject to sales tax, current federal law, proposed reforms, and global perspectives. This issue is vitally important to U.S. states, who are interested in taxing internet sales and using the revenue to fund vulnerable social programs.  AULR is honored to have many illustrious experts involved in the symposium, including keynote speaker Heidi Heitkamp, United States Senator for North Dakota and John Swain, Professor at Arizona University Law School and co-author of the leading treatise on state taxation, State Taxation, vols. I & II (3d ed.).
